After months of planning, tastings, choosing décor and coordination, the wedding day is finally here. As an agency with over 20 years of experience behind the scenes, we have seen hundreds of couples. And if there is one thing that makes the difference between a stressed couple and a couple having a great time, it is the way they approach the day itself.
Here are the 5 most common mistakes we advise you to avoid so you can enjoy your celebration to the fullest.
1. Don’t become the coordinator of your own wedding
The wedding day is not the time for logistics. If your morning starts with giving instructions to the sound engineers, calling florists or checking whether the welcome glasses are lined up, the tension will take over.
- What to do: Free your mind of operational tasks. Delegate everything to your wedding coordinator or trust the team you have chosen. Your only job on this day is to be happily in love.

2. Don’t check the weather forecast every 5 minutes
Wind, unexpected rain or too much sun – nature has its own script. Checking weather apps from the morning only raises your cortisol and robs you of the joy of the first hours.
What to do: A good organisational team always has a plan B ready. If it rains, it’s simply a moment for great, unconventional photos and an even cosier atmosphere.
Everyone is afraid of the rain, but it actually does two great things: first, it produces the most cinematic and emotional photos you can have, and second – it gathers everyone in one place and the party just explodes. In 20 years I have seen hundreds of weddings and I guarantee you – the drops bring luck, and the wildest dances have always happened right in the rain.

3. Don’t try to keep to the schedule at all costs
If the photo session runs 10 minutes longer or the first dance is delayed a little because the guests are still being seated – that’s completely normal. Staring at the clock kills the natural rhythm of the celebration.
- What to do: Let the host and DJ manage the dynamics behind the scenes. Their job is to adapt the programme so that none of the guests notice the small deviations.

4. Don’t forget to eat and drink water
It sounds cliché, but it’s one of the most common issues. Because of the excitement, hugging the guests and the rush, many newlyweds realise at 10 p.m. that they haven’t had a single glass of water or tasted their dinner.
- What to do: Ask your coordinator or the best man and maid of honour to give you 15 minutes of complete calm right after the photo session or during the cocktail, so you can have a light bite, hydrate and catch your breath together.
5. Don’t focus on the small mishaps
A dropped glass, a slightly wrinkled dress or a relative’s mixed-up song – the small surprises are part of the charm of every event in hindsight. If you react with a smile, the guests won’t even notice that something didn’t go to plan.
What to do: Accept that perfection is not the absence of surprises, but the way you enjoy them. The wedding day passes in an instant – live it with your whole heart, lots of dancing and good friends by your side.
